The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Rickshaw have been huge hits. Our customers have raved and they always disappear from our shelves quickly. Now we are able to offer great sale pricing on the terrific 2016 Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon.

Here’s the Winemaker Note on this Cabernet Sauvignon:

“Cabernet sourced from Sonoma, Napa and Paso Robles, blended for richness and sophistication. Rich, ripe valley fruit brings dark plum, coffee, and cassis to the wine which is buttressed by mountain sources that provide a streak of red fruit, verve, and structure.”

If that sounds good, just wait until you taste it! And, since it’s from Rickshaw, you can afford to load up.  Check out the incredible E-mail Sale pricing…

We’ve tasted dozens of Cabernet Sauvignons in recent months. None matched the combination of quality, value, and food-friendly style offered by the 2016 Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2016 vintage was terrific throughout California, especially for cabernet sauvignon. Sonoma earned a 2016 vintage rating for cabernet sauvignon of 94 points (“superb”) from Wine Enthusiast. And Napa was even better, earning a 2016 cabernet vintage rating of 95 points!

Here’s more about Banshee/Rickshaw:

Some of our finest wine value from California come from the people behind Banshee and Rickshaw. Here’s how they describe Rickshaw Wines.:

“RICKSHAW is dedicated to the relentless pursuit of wines with elegance, purity, and sophistication.”

“RICKSHAW is true to its varietal character, steers clear of heavy handed tricks in the cellar, and over delivers in every possible way. We source our fruit from diverse appellations across California from sustainable vineyards, enabling us to choose and craft the highest quality wine possible.”

“The Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a beefy texture with plush weight and full throttle flavors.”

Here’s more about the 2016 Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon (notes from the winery):

“We like to take a pretty minimal approach to our winemaking. Tap into some great sources and make varietally true and focused wines. However, the one part where we get to really flex some skills is during the blending process. Sometimes we weave together as many as two dozen different lots selected for cooperage, oak age, vineyards, and vineyard blocks. In the case of our Cabernet Sauvignon, we even have the option of using small pieces of other Bordeaux varietals to make it just so.”

“2016 was a classic California Cabernet Sauvignon vintage with yields returning closer to average and an even growing season throughout. The harvest was an early one and with another year of drought, the early winter rains were a welcome sight. With no imminent weather events pending, it allowed for the fruit to hang and gain full physiological ripening. Even with the moderate yields, the fruit was of exceptional quality across California and the
resulting wines are complex and concentrated with opulent and giving tannins and structure.”

“We sourced this blend of 95% Cabernet sauvignon and 5% Malbec from several great vineyard sites across Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Lake County and Paso Robles. Each Cabernet source added its own important component to the blend. We also blended in a small amount of Malbec to add high tone fruit and vibrant acidity. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in French oak (75% neutral, 25% new). ABV is 13.9%.”

“This vintage of RICKSHAW Cabernet is just that, pure Cabernet Sauvignon in a food-friendly, Tuesday night glass in front of the TV style. Black cherry, black currant and blackberry aromas and flavors with notes of black pepper, tobacco, licorice and violets.”

Here’s how it tastes (note from the winery):

“RICKSHAW Cabernet is a compelling wine from the get-go with a potpourri of aromas including macerated cherries, violets, bay and cocoa.  It’s followed by flavors of black cherry, framboise, chocolate covered espresso bean, and plum.  The wine carries through with excellent length and a certain refreshment that invites the next sip.”
